Nintendo DSi
The Nintendo DSi was an upgraded model of Nintendo DS, created for the purpose making consoles more unique to the individual user, hence DS"i", referring to oneself. This was achieved by adding more customisation, such as a new main menu that can be reorganised, photos that can be displayed on the main menu and downloadable software from an online shop. The camera was added as a "visual" input, in addition to the "touch" and "audio" inputs of the touch screen and microphone, with the goal of making the console utilise multiple senses. Unfortunately, with all the new technology packed in, the DSi removes the GBA port as a sacrifice.
TWL-001(-01)
Often referred to as "Panda" units, Nintendo DSi consoles with the code TWL-001(-01) are development consoles which are used for testing games in a standard player environment. These consoles include menus for debugging and running code, and have a unique color scheme; a black and white external shell, hence the "Panda" nickname. The console still plays regular DS software, so it's still usable as a standard console.
TWL-001(-02)
Known as the "Play Demo Unit", this Nintendo DSi would have been used for in-store demonstrations of upcoming or recently released games. This model is largely the same as the retail model, though the system will not boot up unless connected to a WAP-002 power adapter, presumably to stop thieves from stealing them from shops. Interestingly, the stylus for this unit cannot be removed from its slot.
