Welcome to Luckless Heaven! This website is (soon to be) the biggest encyclopedia for Nintendo-related information on the Internet. Currently under construction.

Preservation Efforts

A big part of what Luckless Heaven aims to do, is to assist in preserving videogames. Maybe a videogame service has reached its "End of Life" and needs its online restoring, or perhaps a rare piece of videogame software hasn't been dumped online. As part of our goal to make gaming history accessible to everyone, we aim to dump whatever we come across and assist developers where possible.

Assisted Projects

Mobile System GB

Mobile System GB was an online service for a small number of mostly Nintendo and Konami games on the Game Boy Color. The service could be accessed by connecting a Mobile Adapter GB to the Game Boy Color, and then connecting the adapter to a compatible mobile phone. This system allowed users to access a large variety of features, such as online play, downloadable content, messaging and more. This service was discontinued on the 14th of December, 2002, but the service is being restored by the Game Boy Online Restoration Team.

Kiosk Video Players (CIS-004 and WIS-009)

The 3DS and Wii U Stations are specific models of kiosk, exclusive to areas of Asia, that heavily advertised the Nintendo 3DS, the Wii U and games released on those systems. How these video players work is largely unknown, but a lot can be learned from the files found in the hard drives of these devices.

Nintendo DS Guide system

The Nintendo DS Guide system is a set of software that was used by certain events and museums to send audio-visual tour guides to attendees that own Nintendo DS/3DS consoles via DS Download Play. Using a computer and at least two Nintendo DS/3DS consoles, this software can still be used to create and distribute custom tours.
