Welcome to Luckless Heaven! This website is (soon to be) the biggest encyclopedia for Nintendo-related information on the Internet. Currently under construction.

Other Hardware

This is a page for other miscellaneous Nintendo hardware. This includes consoles that were more side projects for Nintendo, such as the Nintendo Classic Mini micro consoles and Pokemon devices, and hardware that was intended for use across multiple consoles, such as amiibo and the Nintendo Wi-Fi router.

PokeMotion

The PokeMotion is an electronic communications toy, released soon during August 2003. This device has 16 green lights and 16 red lights, which are all used together with the illusion of "afterimages", so that when you shake the device around, an illuminous image of a Pokemon appears in the air. The device features 201 Pokemon that appeared in "Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire Version", though the legendary Pokemon are locked by default. Using the green and red up/down buttons allows you to access different Pokemon, with the lights working as a simple menu. The lightning bolt button turns the device on or off. Sometimes, when the device is powered on, a couple of the lights will flicker; navigating to these lights using the green and red up/down buttons will unlock a legendary Pokemon to view permanently. The Torchic and heart buttons switch the device between "Pokemon Mode" which is the default mode that displays Pokemon, and "Communication Mode", which instead displays various phrases in Japanese such as "ガンバレ!" (TL: good luck). The question button activates "Quiz Mode" where Pokemon are viewed, and the circle or cross buttons can be used to answer user-made questions. The sparkle button activates "Illumination Mode", which makes the lights change automatically, without needing to shake the device. The device was only released in Japan, with kiosks that would rapidly shake the device being installed in various Japanese toy stores. These kiosks were eventually used to figure out bugs and issues with the Wii Motion Plus accessory before release.
