Wii U
The Wii U console, paired with the Wii U gamepad, allows you to play on two screens, the TV and display, or only on the controller screen. It is the first Nintendo game console to support HD and 1080p video output. It's backward compatible with Wii, and it also supports legacy peripheral devices such as the Wii Remote and the Wii Remote MotionPlus. The name of the “Wii U” was derived from the idea that the previous generation Wii was derived from “We”, while the Wii U was named “You”. There were two variations available on release; this console is the "Basic Set" with only 8GB of built-in flash memory.

Wii U Pro Controller
A much more traditional controller for the Wii U. It appears similar to the Wii's Classic Controller Pro, but the connection to the console is wireless and no longer needs to connect via a Wii Remote. In addition to the built-in rumble, the arrangement of the front button and stick is switched upside down so that the left and right stick can be pushed as a button. The controller's battery pack is the same battery used in the original Nintendo 3DS (CTR-003).

Wii U GamePad
The Wii U GamePad is included with the console. It has a standard ABXY button layout and directional pad, along with dual joysticks and a pair of shoulder buttons on each side. The power, plus, minus and home buttons are all present as well, from the Wii Remote, and also has a built-in camera and microphone. The GamePad now also has a TV control button, allowing you to use it as a channel and volume button for your TV monitor. This button also allows you to play games solely on the GamePad's screen, allowing other people to use the TV while you play on the GamePad. You can also play Wii mode on the GamePad, with the black bar above the screen serving as a motion sensor bar for the Wii Remote. The GamePad began being sold individually on November 24th, 2015, limited to the Japanese Nintendo Online Store.

Wii U (Event model)
This unusually numbered Wii U model is essentially a regular Wii U console in most areas of usage, but the back has been modified to include two ports for wired Wii U Gamepads to connect to, and the console has a cheaper, worse 5GHz WiFi module than a standard model. This model was apparently used for certain events, though it's currently unknown why this model was used rather than the Wii U kiosk console, WIS-001.
