DS Shigureden


Digital literature series started in 2006


A series influenced by the Shigureden museum, which was founded by third Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi. The game and museum both focus on Ogura Hyakunin Isshu, which is a set of 100 poems compiled by 12th century poet, Fujiwara no Teika. These poems have been used to play memorisation games, such as the ones featured in these games.

This game allows you to enjoy a 100 poems by a 100 poets, typically called "Ogura Hyakunin Isshu", a classic Japanese poem collection that is typically used in memorisation games. This game has different game modes to enjoy such as "Karuta Gobanshoubu", a one-on-one karuta match with 3 difficulties against 5 poets, depicted by real actors via full motion video.
